President’s Message

Dear Fellow Mineral Processing Professionals,

I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all of you on the historic anniversaries of 50 years since the commencement of training Mineral Processing Technicians in Mongolia, 30 years since the commencement of training Mineral Processing Engineers, and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Mongolian Association of Mineral Processors. From the construction and development of some of Mongolia’s pioneering processing plants to the technological commissioning and stabilization of newly operational projects, the achievements and progress of Mongolia’s mining industry are inseparably linked to the dedication, hard work, and contributions of our senior, mid-career, and young generations of professionals. It is therefore with great pride that the Mongolian Association of Mineral Processors welcomes these historic anniversaries by strengthening unity among our professional community and achieving notable results through joint training and research programs with domestic and international organizations, as well as through a wide range of activities focused on supporting our members.In recent years, we have placed particular emphasis on international cooperation. We have established memoranda of understanding with research institutions and manufacturers, creating a solid foundation for enhancing the professional knowledge and expertise of mineral processing engineers. At the domestic level, we have successfully completed and delivered commissioned projects for various organizations. In particular, the successful completion and timely delivery of commissioned work for the Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry of Mongolia demonstrated the capability of researchers from a non-governmental professional organization to undertake and successfully deliver technically demanding assignments for the government. We are not stopping there. Through a competitive selection process for an internationally collaborative project commissioned by the Ministry of Education and Science of Mongolia and funded by the Science and Technology Fund, we were selected to carry out the research project entitled “Research on Technologies for Improving the Quality and Reducing Impurities in China–Mongolia Fluorspar Concentrate,” in collaboration with Changsha Mining and Metallurgy Research Institute Co., Ltd. of the People’s Republic of China and the China–Mongolia Technology Transfer Center. This project, jointly funded by the governments of the two countries, is currently progressing successfully. Through this initiative, our Association is opening a new chapter in its history of cooperation not only in the field of science and technology in Mongolia but also within the international scientific community. Looking beyond research, we have also established memoranda of understanding with the Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg in Germany and the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering at Wuhan University of Technology in China, with the aim of contributing to the preparation and development of future human resources in our industry. In addition, we have reached an agreement with Inner Mongolia University of Technology in China to conduct training programs in the field of coal and gas, and we are currently exchanging proposals for the development of relevant training curricula. It is also worth noting that our member organizations have provided extensive support for the human resource development programs, sports competitions, and other events organized by the Association. Today, as our Association continues to strengthen its position and gain recognition both within the industry and internationally, and as we increasingly fulfill the responsibilities entrusted to us by our members, I would like to emphasize that greater responsibility and professional ethics must always accompany these achievements. Everything we undertake and accomplish must be carried out to the highest professional standards. Our work must contribute to mitigating investment risks in projects, increasing operational profitability, and consistently demonstrating the professional competence and expertise of mineral processing engineers. For this reason, we have continued to conduct training programs for consulting and certified engineers responsibly and in accordance with the relevant regulations and requirements. I am pleased to share with you that the Association’s leadership team has successfully pursued its core strategic direction of strengthening the connection between “Science – Education – Industry,” working together with our professional community with a shared commitment and common purpose.Furthermore, in celebration of this historic anniversary, and with the aim of preserving the continuity and legacy of three generations of mineral processing engineers, we are honored to present to you the first volume of the series “Mongolian Mineral Processors Across a Century.” This publication is a compilation of interviews and profile articles featuring generations of Mongolian mineral processing engineers, conducted by G. Iderkhangai, editor and journalist of the Mineral Resources Review newspaper. May the great work and achievements of the members of the Mongolian Association of Mineral Processors, guided by unity, professionalism, and the highest standards of ethics, continue to prosper and reach ever greater heights.
